How this is calculated
In-house running cost is every engineer you set (SDK, Infuse-IoT, Infuse-DB, and Infuse-Analytics) at the fully loaded cost. That is 6 people × $150,000 = $900,000 per year to build and run those layers.
Build cost before first shipment is that running cost times 12 / 12 months, which is $900,000.
Infuse cost is the published list price for the same layers, using the tier that fits 50,000 devices: Infuse-IoT Enterprise $19,188 + Infuse-DB Enterprise $19,188 + Infuse-Analytics Enterprise (1 node) $5,988 = $44,364 per year. Infuse-SDK is included in Infuse-IoT. Set a product’s engineers to 0 to leave it out of both sides.
Difference including the build cost is the build cost plus one year of in-house running, minus one year of Infuse: $900,000 + $900,000 − $44,364 = $1,755,636.
Difference each year after is in-house running minus Infuse: $900,000 − $44,364 = $855,636.
This ignores recruitment time, staff turnover, and the security and compliance work that continues after launch. All three usually push the in-house figure higher.
