The interesting number is how long a device stays useful.
Zephyr is already in products. 2027 makes lifetime update a requirement. Volume is not the story — whether each device can still be maintained is.

Linux Foundation Research’s Zephyr Turns 10 survey (n=413) found 70% of organisations in the US and Canada already use Zephyr in products, and 62% in Europe. 69% plan to increase use. 1% plan to decrease. 52% support Zephyr products for five to ten years or longer.
That support horizon is the point. A 2027 regulatory regime — EU CRA full obligations from 11 December 2027, US Cyber Trust Mark from January 2027 for relevant buyers — assumes a device can be securely updated and maintained for as long as it is in the field.
